Cynical Nature of Things: Process 2

 

I am going with the theme of the expense of being a woman. I want to involve some of the things that women have to deal with. I need to take more pictures that go along with this theme better. I think that I would choose the word struggles or expenses or even female to describe my project.

    I like the collage-type poster feel you have going here. It reminds me of political commentary posters and that seems appropriate given the subject you are addressing has a lot to do with society.

    I also like the collage feel you have throughout these! I think the repetition of the hands is really effective especially in terms of your use of the word "struggle." The graffiti imagery is a bit out of place I think in terms of how much they relate to women's issues but I'm sure there is a lot of other graffiti or iconography out there that would fit well!

    Everything you've made feels very powerful, I love the collaged approach with streaks of different, bright colors. The message you're trying to put out there is really coming through in your work; It also adds a layer of perspective to what all a cycle applies to and how much more broad it can be.

    I love your concept! I really like the use of inverse colors in the. first image and last image. I think it adds some emphasis and interest your piece. The middle images have a nice pared down color palette with the yellows and pinks which I think could be nice to explore further. Those colors kind of remind me of the work of the Guerrilla Girls which feels very fitting for your theme if you chose to stick with them. I think the graffiti imagery works well within your piece and fits naturally within your concept. I look forward to seeing future interactions!

 I have a few ideas for this project and I'm not really sure which route I want to take. I would love to be able to create something online and get it printed out and then paint or print make on top of it. My first time is like molding fruit, I'm working with fruit in my photography class right now so I've been thinking about it a lot. I think it would look cool to have intense images of really bright and colorful fruit and then have molding pieces crawling upon it. I also had the idea it photograph hands. Personal Project: Process 1

 I think for this project I want to do something of a self-portrait. I have a few photos of myself that I would love to edit and distort in a cool way. I am imagining a really groovy and fun maybe almost scrapbook-like final photo. I think it would be cool to print out this edited photo and add doodles and other things over top and under neither it and then frame it.
